St. John’s School, New Delhi was established in 1967 with a humble beginning in a rented building at South Extension, New Delhi. The school is run and managed by ‘The Delhi Mar Thoma Church Society (Reg. No. S-3030), a body registered under the Societies Registration Act. In 1983 we got a land allotted from Delhi Development Authority at E- Block, Masjid Moth, Greater Kailash-3. The School got shifted to the new campus in 1992 and got recognition in 2001-02.

The managing body of the School - The Delhi Mar Thoma Church Society - functions under the Delhi
Diocese of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church of Malabar.There were 11 founding members as individuals and
the Mar Thoma Parishes in NCT Delhi have joined as Corporate members. Later many members of the
Church in NCR have joined as individual members. The first Executive Committee was formed as Rev. P
V Thomas as Chairman, Mr. M M Samuel as Secretary and Mr. K S Mathew as Treasurer. Later we have
adopted the policy of the Diocesan Bishop of Delhi Diocese being the Chairman, the Vicar of St.
Thomas Mar Thoma Church, Karol Bagh being the Vice-Chairman and the Diocesan Secretary being the
Manager of the School along with the other members
