Gomes quoting Swami Vivekananda. Mr. Nicholas Gomes S/o Late Thomas Gomes, born in a Christian
family had his primary and secondary education from Don Bosco School, Calcutta and graduated from
St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata.

He started his teaching career at a very early age of 17 and is in his 41st year of which he has
been a Principal for over 15 years in 2 schools of repute in Kolkata. He has a rich heritage of
precious experience gained mainly from St. George’s college , Mussoorie and St. Paul’s school ,
Darjeeling, working alongside teachers from England(the U.K) and other places.

During his long tenure of teaching, mainly the senior secondary level. He has seen many students
pass successfully through his guidance and teaching. A passionate teacher, he has won many laurels
in his field. Combined with his high teaching ability and his skill for co-curricular and extra
curricular activities, he was soon absorbed by St. George’s college, Mussoorie as head of the
Department of Commerce and a Senior House Master. There he was also Master-in-charge of swimming,
athletics, debate, dramatic, boxing, etc. He was soon invited to join St. Paul’s School,
Darjeeling as head of the Department of Commerce and had a fruitful stint of 18 years. He reached
his height after taking care of a number of activities. He was appointed Senior House Master for his
ability to handle the senior student tactfully. There he was awarded many accolades for his work in
various field of education. His name spread far and wide as an enthusiastic educationist to the
core. He has written many books in Accounts but never had them published. He gave them away to his
students and was meant for private circulation only. He has participated actively in the cause of
Water Conservation in Darjeeling, plantation of trees and ecological imbalances that has caused
global warming and how such things can be prevented for the betterment of humanity. Attended many
seminars, symposium and workshops dealing with the above as also in Anti AIDS and HIV to create
awareness among the people of our society. He has been in close association with the Council for the
Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) for over four decades. He was appointed as permanent
observer for the conduct of Examinations of the CBSE at the 10th and 12th level. He was also made a
member of the Punjab Mountaineering Foundation in the year 2002.

He is a passionate teacher and a strict disciplinarian in the form of administration. He is an all
rounder excelling both in the classroom as well as on the games field. His favourite games being
Football, Volleyball, Marathon, Cycling, Boxing, Swimming and Athletics. He was also
master-in-charge and a coach of these games. He also trained students in the field of Debate,
Elocution, Public speaking and Dramatics. With him as the Head of St. Xavier's High School, the
school will surely be right on top in the map of Gurgaon soon.
